 Agricultural and fishing village it is situated on the south-east side of the homonymous pond, this extends for about 20 square km, it is rich of mullets and other valuable fish, which are mainly used from local restaurants. Not a long time ago the fishermen used the typical boats called "is fassonis" made by a lacustrine plant: the reed mace. At the moment this boat is used only during the Is Fassonis' race that takes place on the pond of Santa Giusta. Moving from Cabras toward S.Giovanni in Sinis, we meet the village of S.Salvatore famous because here were filmed some western movies. Going ahead is the church of San Giovanni di Sinis, an example of Paleo-Christian architecture in Sardinia. Tharros is a Phoenician- Punic -Roman town founded by Phoenicians around the 814 B.C. near Capo San Marco. Its impressive remains mark its importance, remarkable for the architecture and the striking panorama that dominate it.
